Singin' and Swingin' with the Big Bands! | Song Writers of the 60s | FORMAT: POPS PROGRAM In Full Swing presents the music of two great American song writers
of the 1960s. It would seem that the music of Burt Bacharach and Hal David
is destined to takes its place in the canon of classic American popular
song. Bacharach’s recent concert tour with British pop singer Elvis Costello
and their appearance in the Austin Powers sequels demonstrates the timeless
appeal of these great songs from the 1960s. In Full Swing features a number
of Bacharach’s popular numbers such as "This Guy’s In Love With You,"
"Alfie," and "What the World Needs Now Is Love," and music from his film
scores and musicals, such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Promises,
Promises, and Lost Horizon. Since the 1960s Stevie Wonder has been one
of America’s great songwriters, singers, and multi-instrumentalists. His
high, powerful voice and rich harmonies have appealed to musicians and
fans alike. In Full Swing presents some of Stevie’s most famous numbers
and a few lesser-known but deserving songs. Included in the medley is
"Sir Duke," "Don’t You Worry About a Thing," the lovely ballads "Visions"
